I didn’t know about the deleted scene and didn’t feel like I was missing any info. I think Vaughn is referring to all of Lauren’s manipulations that she pulled on him: taking advantage of his grief after Sydney “died”, killing her father to play into Vaughn’s need to do the right thing and stay with her, and also the brainwashing.

He is saying that even though he was manipulated, he takes full responsibility for staying with Lauren all the while loving Sydney more and going back to Lauren after he already told her he wanted a separation because her dad died.. He put Sydney through a lot of pain and it makes perfect sense she would be hesitant to move forward with him. I think that’s all he was asking her. She didn’t blame Will for what Francine’s double did to him. Too much disappointment for Syd after all that already happened. She said it. She didn't want to get her hope up. His rage is just the icing, something he has to take care of before dealing with the rest.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602768493252012287.post-59676507331868561452023-01-07T22:09:57.517-07:002023-01-07T22:09:57.517-07:00Lots of times on missions Sydney and Vaughn would ...Lots of times on missions Sydney and Vaughn would split up…one going after Sloan and the other after Irena…..or one going after Sark and the other after Lauren. So I’m not sure why this instance was such a big deal. Sydney actually misread the situation. It was Sloan trying to save Nadia from Sark and Lauren.

On a side note…..why doesn’t Sark ever take a bullet with all the people shooting at him every week?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602768493252012287.post-37620453733233504712022-08-25T18:15:16.486-06:002022-08-25T18:15:16.486-06:00How about Vaughn in the wetsuit rising out of the ...How about Vaughn in the wetsuit rising out of the water…..nice!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602768493252012287.post-41844910973079120212022-08-25T17:08:03.691-06:002022-08-25T17:08:03.691-06:00I wonder when Lauren started to mess with Vaughn p...I wonder when Lauren started to mess with Vaughn psychologically? Maybe that’s how she got him to marry her so quickly. She is beautiful and has a great body plus a pedigree…and she is a great actress…..hard for her target to turn down. Especially what Vaughn’s life was like after he thought Sydney was dead. I never noticed the men in the surveillance car watching Vaughn and Lauren until it was pointed out….maybe by Kendall.
Not sure why Vaughn taking responsibility (hardly his fault…..similar to Will and Francine and nobody blames Will) upsets Sydney so much. Just another way for us to worry about them getting back together I guess.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602768493252012287.post-68388763412173600772022-08-25T13:17:11.018-06:002022-08-25T13:17:11.018-06:00In real life you see men marrying quickly after a ...In real life you see men marrying quickly after a divorce or death. Lots of men are incapable of being alone. We see that with Vaughn earlier when he gets back with Alice. Vaughn’s rage is justified….that would not keep me from being with him. I never under stood why he said he was responsible and why Sydney says she may not be able to get past ‘it’…whatever it is. The writers are too vague about what this means.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602768493252012287.post-85723709341328151072018-08-13T01:06:54.780-06:002018-08-13T01:06:54.780-06:00i really would like to believe that whatever psych...i really would like to believe that whatever psycho mind therapy that Antarctica (Lauren) performed on Vaughn caused him to become so uncharacteristic in his behaviour because otherwise, in my book at least, there is never a good reason for a man to not look after the ladies in his life be it girlfriend, wife, sister, mother ... he basically broke protocol (which is fine with me because like he said, it was a judgement call) but more importantly, he didn't have Sydney's back. Maybe he felt that Sloane would never hurt Sydney but apparently Sloane's guards had no problem shooting to kill (her).

Anyway, his out of control temper and rage - not sexy at all ...

i absolutely loved Syd's speech to him about how he cannot let the darkness take him over - definitely a parallel to what he said to her on the pier in Season 1. It really shows how good they are for each other and how enduring their love could be.

She was so sweet and caring in what she said to him that it really calmed him down.

And I don't think there was any contradiction in what she said - in fact it made perfect sense. When they were on the pier, at best, they were friends. And yet he was there for her that way so as friends, why can't she be there for him too? And of course he needs to sort out those feelings before she can consider him again as a love interest.

But I am not sure I would be comfortable being with a man who was capable of such rage ... hmmmAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17315580633678902101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602768493252012287.post-50531183687285278852018-08-12T23:34:54.443-06:002018-08-12T23:34:54.443-06:00"huh?" indeed! What does Vaughn mean ..."huh?" indeed! What does Vaughn mean 'whatever Lauren did to him, he takes full responsibility? hello what are you going off about Vaughn? it's your full responsibility that she tortured you (how is that your responsibility?) or you take full responsibility for being such a knucklehead and marrying her so fast that if Sydney had been buried, her body wouldn't even have had a chance to decompose yet? huh! how about apologising for that?
haha i think i should apologise about getting so excited about this ;pAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17315580633678902101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602768493252012287.post-33674315454976313702014-01-20T20:55:03.720-07:002014-01-20T20:55:03.720-07:00I'll go into my thoughts on this more when I b...I'll go into my thoughts on this more when I begin season four, but Lauren really did mess with Vaughn a lot. I still don't understand why they deleted the scene where we find out that Lauren has been messing with Vaughn's head in the episode right before this one. Because it explains that not only has Lauren made him miss out on being with Sydney when she needed him most, has used every part of him towards her evil plan, but now he finds out that she has been psychologically conditioning him to do things that he has no idea that he did or what information he may have given her. This really messes with his head.

When he left Sydney with Nadia in the end of the episode, I believe that he wouldn't have gone after Lauren if he thought that Sydney was actually in danger. From what he could see they had gotten rid of the immediate threat and he knew that Sydney was very capable on her own. So he justified leaving Sydney and Nadia, and he does regret the fact that Nadia did have to save Sydney and that he wasn't there for her. It is with that guilt that he decided once and for all to take Jack's advice and to eliminate Lauren and he goes to the storage unit.

As far as the rage that Vaughn shows when with Dr. Lee, I really do think that it is twofold. He wants to get the Intel, but he also sees it as an opportunity. What I mean by that is that right now, he can't do anything about exacting his revenge on Lauren, the one person he sees as hurting Sydney the most, so he sees another person that has hurt Sydney time and time again. Vaughn remembers the bruises and scars that Sydney had during their first meeting, as well as watching her suffer mentally after Will and Marshall had been tortured, then the anger upon learning that Nadia was also tortured by him. So while he can't get to Lauren, he does have the chance to hurt someone that has hurt Sydney and that will do for him. With all of that though, the part that gets me the most, is after Sydney scolds him for going too far and telling him that it scared her, his reply of; "Yeah... Well... It scared me too." He goes on to tell her how he has this need to find Lauren, but honestly it's that one short little line that I love. It shows Vaughn as vulnerable. Which is something that I don't think that I we get to see enough of.

But your right, this episode didn't have the best positive impact on the relationship in the here and now type of way, but I think that at some point they will look back at this time and think that if they can make it through this, they can make it through anything.
Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09512044484794162411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602768493252012287.post-47292181926736997692014-01-20T02:14:35.712-07:002014-01-20T02:14:35.712-07:00Vaughn worried me a lot in this episode. I did not want him to turn to another Jack and he almost got Sydney killed! His rage made him forget the objective, rescue Nadia and have Sydney's back-Sydney was right to scold him. Vaughn was able to deal with Sydney's mother being his father's killer; that did not diminish how he felt for Sydney but this one about his 2 faced wife really got to him.Honeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10687950687283113178noreply@blogger.com
